- Actually, I think this is the case. Plain tappets that are manually
- adjusted have to have a gradual slope for the cam ramp and the same for
- the backside of the cam in order to prevent abnormal wear. But
- hydralic valve adjusters have no valve lash, no clearance at all
- actually so they can follow more radically ground cams. Or so I've
- been told. :-)
