- Looks like you've two choices: 1) Modify the firewall (not recommended)
- or 2) replace the current distributor with a standard distributor. Any
- Chevy v8 distributor will work; recommend you get one from 1957-1970. You
- can add a CD ignition if you like to get the spark up, although it shouldn't
- be necessary. Is the distributor you're using a Chevy HEI by any chance?
- These won't fit in a '57 Chevy without modifying the firewall.
