  18. USAF look like small potatoes.  Automobiles are actually rather far down
  19. on the list.  The "zero emission auto" furor is mainly political.
  20. Practically everyone is dependent on cars, so it brings the issues home
  21. to the electorate, which usually gets screwed anyway.

  23.  There's also the raw fact that the majority of the world doesn't give a
  24. rat's ass about pollution, and if the US miraculously stopped putting
  25. out even a gram of pollution, it wouldn't make that much difference to
  26. the world at large.
