- Background: 1981 Buick Regal 3.8L 231 -- all origninal stock.
-
- Problem: There is a major lag in acceleration occurring when 1)
- starting from a complete stop and 2) when putting the pedal down
- too fast or too much. This only just started to happen. Before
- I was enjoying good response and power. It's been stalling
- lately too. I give it a good 5-10 minutes to warm up. I have a
- feeling its my carbureator (2bbl Varijet). Perhaps it just needs
- adjusting to the cold. Before the weather changed the car ran
- like new (despite the tapping). The tranny is new (T350) so
- highly doubt that is the problem.
