  13. SB!@#The response from the dealer (VW, Porsche, AUDI) appears
  14.   !@#to be that they will "check it out", change the oil, and
  15.   !@#give him the car back...  I contend that the jump in
  16.   !@#temperature is a good indication that internal components
  17.   !@#suffered highly increased friction without benefit of
  18.   !@#lubrication.

  20. SB!@#What should he reasonably and justifiably demand of the
  21.   !@#dealership?  Should the main & rod bearings be pulled for
  22.   !@#inspection/replacement?  Should more be pulled for inspection
  23.   !@#(valvetrain, cam-bearings, pistons/rings)?  Other?

  25. I would say there is an excellent chance of piston/cylinder scuffing at
  26. the least. Same goes for cam/cam bearing surface(probably rides in the
  27. head directly)
  28. If they refuse to do anything serious and say all is fine then get
  29. everything in writing. Document as much as you can. Be assured that when
  30. the engine does fail..your AS% will be covered!
