- I've had a similar problem. It took me about 6 times of pulling it out
- and working on the starter, but I can now replace the starter in an '84 RX-7
- in 10 minutes. :) Anyway, the problem was with the clutch in the starter.
- I took it in to the auto parts place, and they tested the starter. Said it
- wasn't pulling too many amps, and the solenoid still worked... I ended up
- replacing only the clutch on the starter (but also buying a solenoid for
- $70). The clutch took 3 days and $35 to fix (and about an hour once I got
- it off).
