- I personally have not disassembled an Accord or a Chevy F150 but
- it seems to me that a lot of components like the ECU for an
- Accord would be made by Hitachi while the F150's would be made by
- Motorola. A Honda radio would probably come from Matsushita (the
- CD changers may be Alpine) while Ford's would probably be AC
- Delco. What about belts and hoses? I don't know. A lot of
- components just aren't marked as to who made them so the customer
- don't really have a good idea. Who really makes the seats? I
- see no seat tag on any cars, "domestic" or "foreign." The point
- is I have a hard time believing a company saying "this is made
- here or there" and not show me an itemized list of what's made
- where (assembled doesn't count in my opinion). This not only
- applies to foreign companies but also U.S. companies, too.
- There's no accountability and as a consumer, I want to be able to
- make that decision based on adequate, cross-referenceable
- information.
