  22. I personally have not disassembled an Accord or a Chevy F150 but
  23. it seems to me that a lot of components like the ECU for an
  24. Accord would be made by Hitachi while the F150's would be made by
  25. Motorola.  A Honda radio would probably come from Matsushita (the
  26. CD changers may be Alpine) while Ford's would probably be AC
  27. Delco.  What about belts and hoses?  I don't know.  A lot of
  28. components just aren't marked as to who made them so the customer
  29. don't really have a good idea.  Who really makes the seats?  I
  30. see no seat tag on any cars, "domestic" or "foreign."  The point
  31. is I have a hard time believing a company saying "this is made
  32. here or there" and not show me an itemized list of what's made
  33. where (assembled doesn't count in my opinion).  This not only
  34. applies to foreign companies but also U.S. companies, too.
  35. There's no accountability and as a consumer, I want to be able to
  36. make that decision based on adequate, cross-referenceable
  37. information.
