  12. I am on a documentation team for a collaborative writing editor at
  13. Carnegie Mellon, and am interested in hearing some opinions.

  15. The editor allows multiple authors or editors to create columns next to
  16. original text.  Comments or changes may be made in these columns, and
  17. then "linked" to the original text so that a printed version allows
  18. comments to remain next to the text which they reference.

  20. There are various editing capabilities:  find and replace, search, move,
  21. the usual cut/paste/multiple paste features.
  22.  
  23. As writers, what features do you imagine being important to such a program?  
  24.  
  25. The basic program is written, and we're now looking to suggest to the
  26. programmers some pertinent features they might include.  Any comments
  27. would be greatly appreciated.  Please email me directly, as I don't get
  28. here often.
