- Well another sneaky Sun marketing trick succeeds! If you read their little
- brochure though, you'll note that the SPECint92 and SPECfp92 figures for the
- new Classic are the same as the ones for a SPARCstation 2 or IPX, especially
- when you consider that the CLassic's figures were generated by a couple of
- generations newer SPARCcompiler than the figures for the 2 or IPX. So the
- new machines are the performance equivalent of an SS2 or IPX albeit notably
- less expensive. Anyhow this probably no longer belongs in m.f.c.w.
