- After seeing the last posting for an IPC, I would like
- to ask the opinion of those who read before selling my
- IPC.
-
- As stated by Steve Hanson, there are reasons to buy an IPC:
- > 1. They want the higher resolution and higher quality monitor.
- > 2. They want to continue to run 4.1.X for the current time.
-
- I know that most people who read news are associated with education,
- government or larger companies, all of which would be getting
- discounts. There are many companies who don't get discounts and
- want the stability of SunOS 4.1.x right now.
-
-
- The system that I have is equivalent to the previous post, but
- with 16MB more memory (for a total of 24MB). It does not have
- the Sony monitor, but I like the one it has more than Sony anyway.
- All said this is it:
-
- Sparc 4/40 CPU
- -> 24 MB RAM
- On board AUI ethernet, 2 serial ports, audio port,
- and monochrome frame buffer
- Color Frame Buffer Sbus Card
- 16" Color Monitor (Not the mid range)
- 207 internal disk drive.
- All cabling and sun microphone.
-
- I would like to get enough for this setup to buy one of the
- new machines.
-
- SOOOOOOO, if you are in a position to want an IPC and don't get
- any real discounts, let me know.
-
- The list price on an IPC with JUST 8MB OF MEMORY is $7,995!
-
- Let me know what you think VIA E-MAIL. I will post a summary if
- there is enough interest.
