  12. After seeing the last posting for an IPC, I would like
  13. to ask the opinion of those who read before selling my
  14. IPC.

  16. As stated by Steve Hanson, there are reasons to buy an IPC:
  17. >   1.  They want the higher resolution and higher quality monitor.
  18. >   2.  They want to continue to run 4.1.X for the current time.

  20. I know that most people who read news are associated with education,
  21. government or larger companies, all of which would be getting
  22. discounts. There are many companies who don't get discounts and
  23. want the stability of SunOS 4.1.x right now.

  26. The system that I have is equivalent to the previous post, but
  27. with 16MB more memory (for a total of 24MB). It does not have
  28. the Sony monitor, but I like the one it has more than Sony anyway.
  29. All said this is it:

  31.     Sparc 4/40 CPU
  32.     ->  24 MB RAM
  33.     On board AUI ethernet, 2 serial ports, audio port,
  34.         and monochrome frame buffer
  35.     Color Frame Buffer Sbus Card
  36.     16" Color Monitor (Not the mid range)
  37.     207 internal disk drive.
  38.     All cabling and sun microphone.

  40. I would like to get enough for this setup to buy one of the
  41. new machines.

  43. SOOOOOOO, if you are in a position to want an IPC and don't get
  44. any real discounts, let me know.

  46. The list price on an IPC with JUST 8MB OF MEMORY is $7,995!
