  16. Yesterday I fetched, compiled, and installed gcc v2.3.1.
  17. We have sun4s running sunos 4.1.1.  I have a few questions,
  18. which are probably ridiculously simple, but the answers
  19. don't seem obvious right now.

  21. 1.  Should I be using gas and gld?  Right now, I use neither
  22.     and the objects are linked dynamically (which I think is
  23.     great).

  25. 2.  Where do the g++ header/include files come from?  I seem
  26.     to be lacking them.
  27.     (If I just need to ftp another piece of GNU stuff from 
  28.      somewhere, this is great, but could this bit of info
  29.      perhaps be added to the INSTALL file?  Thanks.)

  31. 3.  What is the libgcc.a used for?  It was installed under
  32.     /usr/local/lib/gcc-lib/sparc.../2.3.1 and is a collection
  33.     of objects that can be used in static linking.  I'm asking
  34.     because I wonder how this works with/against dynamic linking
  35.     on our suns.

  37. 4.  Finally, what is "glibc-1.05" (seen in this group) and why
  38.     (?) do I need it?

  41. overlooked the answers in the INSTALL, but I really did read it.
