  18. presence better known!  *Any* console driver that:

  20. a) Breaks Xfree86
  21. or
  22. b) Is not compatable with the main patch line (PL58).

  24. Is totally useless in my eyes, since I'll need to become responsible
  25. for a rather large 3rd party derivation or hack it around the X
  26. support code (or both).  My patch breaks rule (b) but is at least
  27. small enough to keep adding back in and doesn't break X.

  29. When your driver is merged with 386BSD or at least completely
  30. compatable with the Xfree86 console driver patches, then I'll happily
  31. consider such hackery 'obsolete'.  Until then, it's of no interest
  32. at all.
