- I'm contemplating the purchase of a tape drive for my Mac to use with A/UX
- and the MacOS. I have two primary goals:

- 1. Compatibility with other Unix systems.

- 2. Speed and capacity.

- I'm most familiar with DC6000 compatible drives, however, I understand that
- 4mm DAT and 8mm drives are becoming more popular and hold more data.

- Keeping goal #1 in mind, would I be better off with a QIC DC6000 drive or
- should I look into one of the newer formats?
