  13. Also wanted to let everyone know what they are up against with AUX and the 
  14. IIVX systems...
  15.  
  16. I tried the normal IICI install and the Quadra install... both said that the
  17. system software level was not supported on the Vx
  18.  
  19.     point 1 - the VX REQUIRE 7.1, AUX is not compatible with 7.1
  20.         This affects other that may want 7.1 but have a Quadra
  21.         or a IIci
  22.  
  23. I made a 7.1 install disk... by transferring the System files from the 
  24. 7.1 install onto a copy of the AUX install disks.  
  25.     point 2 - 7.1 is too large for a 1.4 meg disk with the AUX install
  26.         stuff on it... and the fonts folder is a new novelty that
  27.         may be the cause of problems.

  29. I formated a hard disk to use as an install disk rather than a floppy.  Got
  30. all of the system stuff straightened out, or so I thought and proceeded to 
  31. try and install... IT WAS ACTUALLY WORKING....
  32. Then after the load hit a certain point, the screen went grey (this is normal
  33. in the install... remember the screen blanks and the load banner comes back to 
  34. finish).  With this install the loading banner never came back, the system
  35. was hung.  So I thought to myself, the video is different (per Apple the IIVX
  36. uses the LCII video scheme).  
  37.     point 3 - the internal video seems to be incompatable.

  39. Not to be discouraged, I installed a TOBY video card (known to work with
  40. AUX on the IICi if you did not want to use internal video and slow the 
  41. machine down....Same thing happened as before..
  42.     point 4 - standard video did not make a difference.

  44. I can see nowhere else to go except to hound apple about this...If anyone 
  45. knows someone high enough in Apple to get results, yet low enought to listen
  46. to me about this please let me know about him/her.  I understand that a new
  47. director of AUX vars was created... If someone knows how to get to him let 
  48. me know.
