  12. I've a question about configuring SLIP. We have two ethernet backbones which
  13. have diferent network numbers. On both networks there is an IBM RS/6000
  14. running AIX 3.2 connected. Both machines are connected to each other with a
  15. leased telephone line. So we tried to configure slip between those machines.
  16. It is possible to do a login session (rlogin) over the network from one
  17. machine to the other machine. But a ping to another host (non-IBM) on the
  18. other network doesn't work ! While a ping from the IBM on the same network to
  19. the "another host" still works.
  20. Also we used to have a possibility to login from a mac on the network using
  21. MacTCP to both machines but this possibility vanished after a reboot. And I've
  22. tried to do the configuration steps again but nu luck so far!!!

  24. Am I overestimating SLIP (no I suppose) or am I doing something wrong or have
  25. I forgotten to do something.....
