  12. I'm considering purchasing a HP 35470A 2.0Gb 4mm DAT drive to be used on 
  13. an RS/6000 and I was wondering whether anyone with experience with this
  14. combination could tell me:

  16.   * Are there any problems/disadvantages with this combination?
  17.  
  18.   * Can a bootable image (mksysb) be created on these drives?
  19.  
  20.   * Is the actual performance as good as quoted?  (e.g. average 30 sec
  21.     access for any part of the tape, 183 Kb/sec transfer rate.)
  22.  
  23.   * Was it recognised by smit and were there any problems setting it 
  24.     up with AIX 3.2?  (Not that I'm there yet, but I hope to be soon
  25.     by the good grace of IBM Oz!)

  27. Any advice would be much appreciated.  If you mail me then I'll
