- I'm considering purchasing a HP 35470A 2.0Gb 4mm DAT drive to be used on
- an RS/6000 and I was wondering whether anyone with experience with this
- combination could tell me:
-
- * Are there any problems/disadvantages with this combination?
-
- * Can a bootable image (mksysb) be created on these drives?
-
- * Is the actual performance as good as quoted? (e.g. average 30 sec
- access for any part of the tape, 183 Kb/sec transfer rate.)
-
- * Was it recognised by smit and were there any problems setting it
- up with AIX 3.2? (Not that I'm there yet, but I hope to be soon
- by the good grace of IBM Oz!)
-
- Any advice would be much appreciated. If you mail me then I'll
- summarise any responses if there's interest.
-
- Thanks in advance
