- Whenever I rlogin or telnet from a RISC 6000 (I'm using AIX 3.2.*)
- to a Sun (I'm using SunOS 4.1.1), I lose characters to the left of the
- cursor as I navigate up and down the screen in the vi editor. A Cntl-L
- sequence will bring them back, of course. The problem occurs no matter how
- I make the initial connection (xterm, aixterm, telnet on a networked pc, or
- kermit with a modem), and I've made sure that all my terminal type settings
- are correct. I've also compared the output of 'stty -a' on the Sun when
- I'm passing through an AIX system to the output of the same command when I'm
- logged directly into the Sun, and they appear to be the same.
-
- Does anyone have any suggestions as to why this may be happening?
-
- Please send e-mail, and I will post results to the net.
-
- Thank you.
