  14. Whenever I rlogin or telnet from a RISC 6000 (I'm using AIX 3.2.*)
  15. to a Sun (I'm using SunOS 4.1.1), I lose characters to the left of the
  16. cursor as I navigate up and down the screen in the vi editor.  A Cntl-L
  17. sequence will bring them back, of course. The problem occurs no matter how
  18. I make the initial connection (xterm, aixterm, telnet on a networked pc, or
  19. kermit with a modem), and I've made sure that all my terminal type settings
  20. are correct.  I've also compared the output of 'stty -a' on the Sun when
  21. I'm passing through an AIX system to the output of the same command when I'm
  22. logged directly into the Sun, and they appear to be the same.

  24. Does anyone have any suggestions as to why this may be happening?
