- Well, since I have a little more info on this:
-
- First off, the price is $3995 in quantities of 12. Not 12+. what
- I mean is, price on the classic is 3995 each for 12 exactly. If you
- buy 14 you pay 3995 each for 12 and 4295 for the other two.
-
- It's a non-discount item, so unless you can wrangle something special
- its $3995 for academic also.
-
- The 15" monitor is 1024x768. Essentially a good 76 Hz refresh
- super VGA. The midrange and higher end 16" monitors are available
- as well as 19" color, and you have a choice of 207 or 424 meg disk.
- I saw the 15" monitor this morning. It looks - well better than
- I expected, but not as nice as the current monitors.
-
- 19" greyscale is available as well. Lots of prices. Let's just say that
- if you're talking the 207 meg disk prices are more or less
-
- 19" greyscale $4995 qty 1
-
- 15" color 4295 qty 1
-
- 16-inch midrange color $4995 qty 1
-
- 16 inch color $5995 qty 1
-
- 19" color 6995 qty 1
-
- Both the classic and the LX REQUIRE solaris 2.1. If you
- want to run 4.1.X you still gotta buy the old machines.
- ALl the older machines remain in the line for the time
- being. I got the impression this was to accomodate those
- who don't want to move to 2.1.
-
- Shipping is supposedly 3-4 weeks both for the workstations
- and Solaris 2.1.
-
- Hope this helps!
