  15. ->a twin tower IP4 machine.  Anyway, I believe I should set the port spee
  16. ->57600 to allow the maximum throughput on a V.32bis, V.42, V.42bis

  23. I had the same question several months ago when we were writing code to 
  24. run our video tape machines. We needed to communicate with them at 38,400.
  25. The 4D70 that we had would not go past 9600. I think we did get it into 
  26. 19.2 at one point, but we had problems, and it still was not fast enough.

  28. You can edit your inittab and gettydefs files to 57600, but it just wont 
  29. go that high. HOWEVER!!! We tried another machine, a CS12 which is also 
  30. called a 4D60, which is just a 4D70 without graphics. And it worked! I 
  31. don't know if it supposed to or not, but we have two ports running at 
  32. 38,400, and they work great. SGI was no help in this matter, so don't 
  33. bother calling them.
