- -> I was wondering if any users out there know of any good paint program
- ->on the SGI platform. We're looking for something that could compete
- ->head-to-head with, say, a Quantel Paintbox - i.e. fast response and a
- ->very full range of paint tools. Any good/bad experiences from anyone?

- My company has two Barco Creator - high resolution systems, that we use in
- conjunction with our Wavefront 3D animation systems. This was chosen, as
- we already had a Quantel Paintbox, and an Ampex AVA. However, I was
- speaking with our SGI rep yesterday, and we were talking about the Aurora
- Paint system which now runs on SGI. That is supposed to be very good.
- Another thing you may want to look into, is a product called "Flame"?
- I'm not sure of the exact name, but I think that was it. It is something
- like a non-real-time Quantel Harry. A Harry is a powerful paint &
- compositing system. All these products will be on display at the SMPTE
- conference next week at the Metro Convention Centre.
-
- If you need more information, you can give me a call at 591-1400. I am the
- senior animator at a company called The Image Group.
-
- Good luck!
