  12. I am trying to run SLIP under 3.0 and am experiebcing problems:

  14. when I put a reference in the /etc/rc.local file to:
  15. sh usr/dialupip/config/rc.slip
  16.  
  17. at bootup, when viewing the process in the monitor,
  18. just after it says "updating cron" (or something close to that)
  19. it calls in to the SLIP server, and then sits there...
  20. untill I tell it to power down.

  22. If I don't have that reference in the /etc/rc.local file,
  23. and then (from root) execute 'sh /usr/dialupip/config/rc.slip'
  24. it configures fine, but then when I run 'slipup' (in 
  25. /usr/dialupip/bin/) it calls just fine, and apparently connects,
  26. but then when I attempt to telnet or ftp to a host, it just sits
  27. there....

  29. BTW>> when I run rc.slip from rc.local, along the way somewhere
  30. it says something to the effect of "cannot modify kernal,
  31. wrong version"  What is this all about?  I got the SLIP from 
  32. sonata.cc.purdue.edu in /pub/next/2.0-release/bin (well, at least
  33. somewhere in the 2.0-release directory)

  35. Is SLIP not compatible with 3.0 (at least this version?!?!)
  36. if so, where can I get a "good" version???
