  14. We are installing 3.0 on a cube.  We had been running 2.1.

  16. After doing an installation from scratch from a CD rom, the system comes up in  
  17. single user mode.  Usermanager doesn't let us do anything without root  
  18. priveleges, but unlike the good old days, it doesn't prompt us for the root  
  19. password so that we may carry on.  On the other hand, some other next apps DO  
  20. prompt us for the root password...
