- This isn't an answer to your question, but the source at
- ftp.uu.net:/graphics/jpeg/jpegsrc.v?.tar.Z. compiles nicely under NS
- 2.1 at least. djpeg -G from that package will turn a .jpg to a GIF
- file in 256 colors. There are many other options as well. djpeg is
- much faster than PC-based jpeg decoders.
