  11. Well, someone in this thread said that Class 1 FAX MODEMs were 'unusable'.
  12. Wonderful.  I just bought a DSI Scout+ V.42bis MODEM with send/receive
  13. FAX at Class 1.  When I couldn't get it to work with the 'class 2'
  14. FAX driver on NS2.2 on my turbo slab, I called DSI (Digicomm Systems Inc,
  15. they who make this MODEM).  They said that class 2 wasn't CCITT ratified
  16. at all yet and they were waiting for this to happen before offering up
  17. new ROMs for this MODEM to do it.  If this is the case, why has NeXT
  18. used a standard that isn't yet?  Sounds like the only 3rd party MODEM
  19. out there doing this is the more expensive ZyXel MODEM.

  21. Please comment.  Anyway to write a 'class 1' driver for NeXTStep's
  22. PrintManager program to configure such a MODEM with?
