- Well, someone in this thread said that Class 1 FAX MODEMs were 'unusable'.
- Wonderful. I just bought a DSI Scout+ V.42bis MODEM with send/receive
- FAX at Class 1. When I couldn't get it to work with the 'class 2'
- FAX driver on NS2.2 on my turbo slab, I called DSI (Digicomm Systems Inc,
- they who make this MODEM). They said that class 2 wasn't CCITT ratified
- at all yet and they were waiting for this to happen before offering up
- new ROMs for this MODEM to do it. If this is the case, why has NeXT
- used a standard that isn't yet? Sounds like the only 3rd party MODEM
- out there doing this is the more expensive ZyXel MODEM.
-
- Please comment. Anyway to write a 'class 1' driver for NeXTStep's
- PrintManager program to configure such a MODEM with?
