- I tried to install some of the PD/SW fonts on the archives, following
- advice from the net, and got mixed results.

- As root, I placed the fonts in LocalLibrary/Fonts, then ran
- buildafmdir and cacheAFMData on the directory. The fonts appeared in
- the fonts panel and seemed to work (eg they would preview correctly).

- Then I logged out and back in as a regular user. But now only some
- of the fonts work. They all show up in the font panel, but most are
- marked unusable. Some, however, do work correctly.

- Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

- In general, though, this kind of rigmarole, even assuming it worked,
- is what one expects of Windoze, not NeXT.
