  25. the educational discount at UCD):

  47. Animations: The Mac has software as good as the NeXT, with more
  48. available video in/out options (but the NeXTDimension probably
  49. beats all of them hands down, IF you feel comfortable with it,
  50. considering many NeXT advocates seem to say it has a dim future.
  51. The Mac as equal quality MIDI solutions.
  52. The Mac has Adobe Illustrator, which another posting claimed was
  53. the best program for DTP.
  54. Color: The Mac has 24 bit color, which most people are satisfied with
  55. in graphical applications.

  59. depending on cost. The Mac also supports multiple monitors while

  63. The NeXT has the better UI (IMHO), OS (IMHO), programming environment
  64. (INearlyEverybody'sHO).

  66. Conclusion: NeXT is better in certain areas, the Mac is just or nearly as
  67. good in your application areas. NeXT costs more, smaller installed
  68. base (so less hardware, software options).
