- I have a mono 25 MHz station with a NeXT-supplied 400MB
- internal disk drive (Seagate). Over time the noise from
- the drive has been getting louder--it is a combination of
- high-pitched whine and buzz--and is becoming a real
- problem. (The sound is constant, not just when seeking.)
- It is 16 months old and out of warranty. Aside from the
- noise it has functioned reliably so far.
-
- Is it possible to have a hard disk *repaired* to fix this
- type of problem? Or is the only solution to throw it out
- and spend big bucks on a new one?
