- Just as a passing question:
-
- And how does the fastest machine in NeXT's lineup today compare with
- a highend clone? (A: It's slower and more expensive.)
-
- Next could do a heck of alot worse than commiting to Intel. Intel is
- doing a pretty good job keeping up with the Risc revolution. They seem
- to have about a year performance lag with the risc designs and this gap
- has held for the past several years (unlike Moto who keeps falling
- further behind.) Plus: Intel has volume like no risc maker can hope to
- achieve in the next several years. This makes for cheap silicon and
- that makes for cheaper machines.
