  16. I have a IIcx with 5mb Ram.  I bought and installed Sys 7.1.  I also  
  17. bought Word 5.1.  I started up with shift key down to disable extensions.   
  18. I then tried to install Word 5.1.  I used custom install.  The installer  
  19. loaded all the compressed files and then began to decompress.  It only  
  20. decompressed the Word application and then I got a system error (bomb).  I  
  21. tried this more than once.  I put the system and finder in a separate  
  22. folder and tried...system bomb.  I rebuilt the desktop (suggested by  
  23. Microsoft Tech Rep and tried...system bomb.  I reinstalled the system and  
  24. tried...system bomb.  I tried the installation on an SE/30 w System 7.0  
  25. and it worked so I don't think its the disk.  I was either getting an  
  26. F-line or illegal instruction error when it bombed.  I was able to restart  
  27. and use Stuffit Deluxe to decompress the files, but I would like to know  
  28. what the problem is.  I have had the Mac totally freeze on a few occasions  
  29. in Word 5.1 - no mouse, no cursor, no way out except programmer's switch.   
  30. Has anyone out there had similar problems with this configuration?
