  13. I saw that commercial on TV where there are two guys trying to
  14. install "WINDOWS" on their PC in order to make it "MORE PRODUCTIVE".

  18. You guys finally started expressing "out loud" what I (and others)
  19. have been trying to tell these PC guys for quite a while now.

  21. You think they will listen?

  23. I doubt it, because for them to realize what yo uare talking about
  24. they need to have bought a PC already and also have gone through
  25. the HELL that a PC gives you.

  27. At that point, they have spent MANY hours and read MANY books figuring 
  28. the stupid PC out, and WON'T LISTEN because they will have to admit to 
  29. being stupid.

  31. Anyway, the commercials are good, and I am glad you are running them just 
  32. to rub it in anyway!

  34. It's too bad that when you go to a store, they would rather sell you a PC 
  35. instead of a Mac because of the $$ PROFIT MARGIN $$ on the CLONER PC's 
  36. that are out there. It really pisses me off when I go in and the guy 
  37. tells me how good the "386 System" is and won't even show me the Mac 
  38. that's on the other table.

  40. Anyway, there's another thing that is interesting with the PC:

  42. As you know, the PC ispatched over and over a million times to get it to 
  43. be like NEWER TECHNOLOGY, such as WINDOWS is just a PATCH FOR DOS.

  45. You will notice that the programs for the PC are getting larger and 
  46. larger. I mean BIG, like 4 MEGS and up.

  48. Mac programs are getting larger, but not that much!

  50. The reason:
  51.  
  52. They have to write / include all their OWN CODE for what we call the
  53. "ToolBox" (ROM) every time they write something!
  54.  
  55. That's the joke!
  56.  
  57. And what's worse is that since each program carries it's own code,
  58. then each programmer must DEBUG his code. This leads to some
  59. packages becomming BUGGY, and these poor guys can never find
  60. out whats wrong (besides that, they are always tied up answering the 
  61. service phone lines!).

  63. Anyway, I give up with PC people. I figure after they all discover that 
  64. they still don't hhave a Mac after installing Windows, they MIGHT just 
  65. get a brain and get a Mac. If not, that's their problem.

  67. Thanks for a fine computer, and trying to make life BETTER and more 
  68. productive (instead of throwing OLD TECHNOLOGY at us and trying to tell 
  69. us it's great) !!
