  15. I recently purchased a PB 160 40/4 (delivered in 2 weeks BTW)
  16. and last night tried to use it with a NEC CDR-77, an older
  17. model CD-ROM.  The PB would not boot with the NEC attached, it
  18. seemed like some sort of SCSI problem so I tried changing the
  19. address of the NEC from 1 to 4 to 6 and this didn`t work.  I
  20. tried putting a terminator on the NEC and the machine started
  21. to boot giving me a error message saying obus errorn and
  22. oreboot holding down the space bar to eliminate extensionsn
  23. when I did this the same error message came up!  This has me
  24. puzzled because the NEC works fine without a terminator on a
  25. plain old MAC IIcx and the SCSI cable I`m using on the PB works
  26. fine on a friend's external hard drive.
  27. Someone said this could be a SCSI-2 problem because NEC's are
  28. incompatable with SCSI-2.  Is this my problem? Does the
  29. powerbook use SCSI-2?
