First, the SIMMs question...

What are the slowest SIMMs that can be used in a Plus?
I understand I can use faster SIMMs in a Plus, but will the Mac actually be any faster?

Now for the hard drive questions...

I was in Micro Center, not that I planned on actually buying anything from those jerks (I almost through a party... that was the third time in 13 years I've been asked if I needed any assistance!) to see what they were asking for hard drives... I just about laughed at the guy when I told him I wanted to spend around $500 max and he showed me an 80 meg drive, considering a person could mail order one much cheaper...

anyways, Does anybody have any recommendations on any mail order houses for drives, and brands they would recommend getting or avoiding?

Also, I have heard about some not being compatible with plusses... out of curiosity, why?

And the last question: Do SCSI drives on a mac REQUIRE a driver of some type?  I remember a while back having to configure people's drives, and there was always the issue of the driver (in the system folder)... but I have also seen people walk up to a mac, plug in their drive, and start using it after restarting, with no installation of a driver of any type.
