- Hmmm. I suppose it's possible to encode and playback dolby surround
- on a Mac, but I suspect that the stereo is probably reacting merely to
- portions of the left and right channels which are out of phase with each
- other. Many music recordings have out-of-phase information which will be sent
- to the rear speakers if Dolby Surround decoding (or just about any
- matrix-extraction) system is on. These are not necessarily deliberately
- Dolby-encoded. In fact, a flat mono recording if split to the right channel
- with the wires flipped could probably be "interpreted" as Surround encoded.

- deliberately Dolby-encoded for surround? Could be fun!
