- It all depends on your need: do you need the 160's floppy drive and ports or
- not? From where I sit, those only add extra weight. Correct me if I'm
- wrong, but a 210 can talk to printers and AppleTalk through its built-in
- serial port. Wherever I go, this is enough: once a 210 is plugged into
- a local network, all services and peripherals I might need are available.
- This includes printing and file sharing, the ones I might sometimes need.
-
- Unless I'm wrong, this is quite satisfactory for many users. Apple should
- be promoting the 210 as a machine which simply plugs into a network (but
- this would detract from sales of docking stations and other goodies). It took
- me a while to realize that (1) I rarely need the floppy drive, (2) I never
- need to hook up to anything other than a printer or modem and (3) the 210
- has everything I need: AppleTalk (including file sharing) and optional
- built-in modem. Sure, the 160 has certain extras built-in, which other people
- really need, but I'd rather have a leaner notebook, so I vote for the 210.
