I have had the EXACT same problem. I don't know exactly when it
started, but it's been around for at least two years now! I don't
know what causes it, but I also have an external monitor (Radius Pivot)
attached to my SE/30.
Don't bother getting your drive replaced!! I had mine replaced for a
whopping $300+ and the problem eventually returned!
I too would greatly appreciate any information about this problem.
