- Disk spin-up time can be a problem for older drives (ie 5.25" likely
- have a problem as start up drive.) The is a parameter defines how long
- the Mac will wait/try to start from the startup drive before displaying
- the question mark. I don't recall the name of any utility that allows one
- to set the startup drive delay time - though I know I have seen one...

- Any 3.5" drive, especially if recently purchased, would likely spin up
- fast enough to avoid missing the Mac's initial signals to the drive.

- Try the drive with another SE or later. The Plus may accentuate the problem
- but go ahead and try that if available. If you see no problem with your drive
- and someone elses drive then consider sending the drive back ASAP.

- I have seen brand new drives that refuse to work with the Plus but work
- with all later Macs.
