- I was under the assumption that like the LCII, the IIsi could drive a
- multisync VGA monitor. Having a Sony CPD-1302 under the desk, I went out to
- a Whole Earth Electronics store and bought a little adapter that looked like
- it would do the trick. It said it was for a Mac LC. It said it was VGA (just
- looking at the pins was good enough.) And it said something about 60Hz.
-
- So far I haven't had any luck getting the two to talk together. The Sony has
- two switches in the back: a two-way switch that reads "analog" on one side and
- "digital" on the other. Pretty obvious. Something I read said that Macs use
- analog. No problem, leave it set to "analog". The other switch is a three-way
- switch that reads, "norm", "D1", and "D2." Not having the Sony manual around,
- I figured that D1 and D2 probably had something to do with the "Digital"
- setting; I should just leave it on "norm."
-
- First try: no luck. I tried other combinations and they didn't make any
- difference. I don't know whether it is the adapter, the computer, or the
- monitor. Does anyone have any related experience that they could pass on?
