- The 14" is the 13" and the 13" is the 14"- get it? <grin> Actually, the
- Apple 13" and 14" ARE the same sized "tube". Apple for some reason measured
- its tube differently than the rest of the industry, so this time Apple
- decided (to help clear up confusion) to call it 14". Why get the 14"? Well
- there are some very good reasons:
-
- 1) Tilt/swivel base. 13" doesn't have one- only as option.
- 2) Lower ELF emissions- 13" is good, but 14" is better.
- 3) Lower power consumption- the 13" is a power monger, not the 14"
- 4) Redesigned circuitry- should result in far fewer failures than 13" had.
- 5) Better picture tube- 14" uses an updated Sony Trinitron tube
- 6) Sharper, brighter, clearer than 13"
- 7) Automatic degaussing on powerup
- 8) Drastically lower price- $550-$589 at most dealers.
-
- The 14" is a superior monitor to the 13", but 13"s are now at $400 or so to
- clear them out, so you might wanna go for yone of those as well.
