- Pick up a copy of DiskDoubler. With version 3.7.7, they've added the
- AutoDoubler compression algorithms for fast compression and expansion.
- There's always a nice, handy menu for working with the files. Also, you
- have the option of having DiskDoubler expand supplimentary files (eg.
- dictionaries for a word processor).
-
- What you don't get is automatic compression of your hard drive and
- ultra-fast expansion of applications into RAM. For these, you'd need
- AutoDoubler. On the other hand, it doesn't sound like you're looking for
- those features.
-
- Plus, you get some tighter (albiet slower) compression algorithms, the
- ability to create archives and self-extracting archives and the ability
- to split these archives up into floppy-sized files for easy transfer or
- backup.
-
- I don't think any compression product is going to please all the people
- all of the time. On the one hand, it is nice to have an industry
- standard. On the other, needs and preferences vary greatly.
-
- Hope you find what you're looking for,
