- keep in mind that some laptops will let you run off of the power adapter
- even if the batteries are removed. i know that this is the case with my
- TI TM3000 WinSX, so i assume that the original poster's TM4000 can operate
- this way, too.

- If you can run without a battery, then my other initial concern stands
- - what about a power hit? Two other people with different machines
- (Toshiba T1100 Plus and AT&T/NCR Safari) said power hits didn't hurt
- them, but presumably when they had batteries inside - otherwise what
- would provide the protection? This sounds too good to be true.
