- buyers, Intel compatible computers are not a commodity item yet. There is

- other hand "bottom price, bottom quality" is almost always true. After
- all, manufacturers and system integrators have to do more than break even
- to stay in business, and to push prices to the bottom, corners have to be
- cut. These corners are not always in obvious places either.

- manufacturers' newer lower cost systems are cutting corners. You don't
- have to buy top of line brand names to get quality, but watch out for
