- Any assistance is greatly appreciated...
-
- I have just replaced a 5.25" 720K floppy drive with a 3.5" 1.44MB floppy.
- The machine recognizes the new drive as a 1.2MB drive, which obviously
- doesn't work. The floppy drives are automatically recognized during
- startup, so I can't use setup to fix this.
-
- I understand that I have two options:
-
- 1. Replace the BIOS.
-
- 2. Get a driver for the floppy drive. Is there such a thing available
- via FTP?
-
- Note: this is a Compaq Deskpro 386 running DOS 3.1 (give me a break,
- it isn't my machine).
