  15. I have a 200Mb Conner hard drive which when purchased gave a throughput of 
  16. approximately 1Mb/sec with various benchmarks. Now it only gives approx 650-
  17. 700 Kb/sec. The drive has been defragmented and I wouldn't have thought this 
  18. would make a difference anyway (?). There is about 70Mb free on the drive 
  19. and all the seek and track to track are the same. My initial diagnosis is 
  20. that one of the cache chips on the hard drrive mother board has probably 
  21. gone down. Is this a valid guess or would the drive die completly in this 
  22. case.? Any suggestions gratefully accepted as the drive is still under 
  23. guarentee
