- Hi
-
- I have a 200Mb Conner hard drive which when purchased gave a throughput of
- approximately 1Mb/sec with various benchmarks. Now it only gives approx 650-
- 700 Kb/sec. The drive has been defragmented and I wouldn't have thought this
- would make a difference anyway (?). There is about 70Mb free on the drive
- and all the seek and track to track are the same. My initial diagnosis is
- that one of the cache chips on the hard drrive mother board has probably
- gone down. Is this a valid guess or would the drive die completly in this
- case.? Any suggestions gratefully accepted as the drive is still under
- guarentee
-
- Cheers
