- I once had a virus in a partition table that just wouldnt go away. I tried
- dos format, fdisk, I even used norton sector edit to zero out the fat table.
- The virus was still there.
-
- I called our dealer and told him i was going to ll the drive and since it
- was under warranty, if it was made useless I would return it. He gave me the
- OK so I was covered.
-
- The way I LL'ed the drive was to use the disk utilities built into the
- machines BIOS. I set the disk type to 47 and entered the heads, cylinder
- etc. to the native (or was it translation, I cant remember) mode settings
- and ran the BIOS LL routine. Then I ran fdisk and did a dos format.
- Everything has worked fine ever since.
- Has anybody else tried this method?
