  11. I have an HP 42S, and I have read the manual thouroughly
  12. several times.  But I'll be damned if I can figure this
  13. out:

  15. The calculator handles complex numbers just fine, but when
  16. I use the built-in solver on a function with roots in the
  17. complex plain, Ohhhhhhh nooo.  The calculator WON'T do it.
  18. It tells me: "EXTREMUM".

  20. So, is there a trick, or is this just one of the, albeit few,
  21. lame aspects of the machine?
