- Hi folx,
-
- I've recently been made responsible for making a few customizations to what
- should otherwise be a "turnkey" system. "Needless to say", I need some help.
-
- We're running a couple of Series 400 workstations (one is esentially a b&w
- server, the other (color) for end-user access to a program called ASD which
- allows users to look at aircraft positions. For some reason, the system
- must run at version 10.3.5 instead of 10.4.
-
- We want the color machine (named //color) to automatically run this ASD
- program on bootup. I tried adding the program to the end of /etc/rc with
- no results, then I "cp" it in `node_data/startup.1280color, which runs the
- program but the program displays the error:
-
- insufficient rights to perform DM command (display manager/Pad
- manager) (CR)
-
- Basically, we dont want the users to have to login to use the program.
-
- Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm at "noise+@pitt.edu".
- If that doesn't work, please try "noise@pitt.edu" or "noise@unix.cis.pit.edu"
- or "noise@vms.BITNET". I've been away from the USENET for a while and don't
- know the current rules for mailing addresses. I also don't have the
- resources to read comp.sys.apollo , unfortunately.
-
- Thanks in advance,
- Andy Andrews
