- Yes, I now about the MTBF. Compared to harddisks, its really wonderful, isn't
- it? One of my Quantums have already been replaced here, it didn't last for
- more than eight months of continous operation (one of the older 210S models).
- My A3000 happens to be running 24h/day 7days/week here too as a rather busy
- mail server, which means quite intense disk operations. I guess I should get
- some more RAM (would mean the full motherboard of my A3000 filled to the limit.
- ..) so I can afford to have a larger disk cache -- that would probably be
- quite a cheap life insurance for my harddisks, not mentioning the speed up
- bonus.
-
- I'm not saying that parity checking is bad -- I am however saying that there
- are much more important isses when discussing RAM saftey on the Amiga, that
- should be taken care of first in order to make a significant improvement.
