- Yes, it could be, but that doesn't really sound like a configuration
- that would have much mass market appeal and the resultant foot-long
- IDE cable would either not work or be an FCC nightmare unless one
- were to add yet more chips to the mainboard to provide a buffered IDE
- interface.

- As mentioned before, the problem of the different pin pitch between the
- 2.5" IDE connectors and the 3.5" IDE connecors also precludes a simple
- ribbon cable solution.
