- I got a 44Meg for my A1000 not too long ago and had problems getting it to format
- correctly/be recognized. I don't know if it'll work with other controllers,
- but Xetec has a program called "WatchDog" that sits around, watching for disk
- changes of removable hard drives. So far, it's worked for me very well, although
- the access light on the Syquest blinks ala the floppy drives.
- Also, I found that no matter how I had my configuration (Xetec contr., seagate 40
- Meg, and SyQuest 44 Meg) the Syquest would ONLY work if it was between the other
- two. ie: Amiga & controller (w/ termin's) -> SyQuest -> Seagate (w/termin's)
- Keep in mind too that different controllers can act very differently. I bought
- my SyQuest used full of PD software, but couldn't use it because the Xetec
- controller handles hardblocks differently (than GVP).
-
- Finally: Yes, the Mac SCSI system is slightly different. My SyQuest manual
- talks about the differences, but I don't have it with me. I believe the
- MAC SCSI has a power line or vice/versa.
