  13. Given all the messages regarding HD floppy problems on the A4000,
  14. for whatever it is worth:

  16. My machine (SN 000219) can format HD disks into MS-DOS or Amiga
  17. format.  The MS-DOS format is 1.44 MB and the Amiga format (FFS)
  18. is 1.76 MB.  The disk's can be read/written fine with no
  19. problems that I have been able to detect.  I assume that the
  20. MS-DOS format is readable by DOS machines with high density
  21. drives, but I haven't tested this yet.

  23. Note that to get this to work, you must have disks labeled with
  24. the little 'HD' symbol and the hole in the upper left corner.
  25. As an aside, I had some HD disks that were formatted and written
  26. on an old machine without the HD drive (i.e. at the old 880k
  27. size).  These disks can't be read on my A4000 (humm, I guess I
  28. could cover the hole... :-)!  They reformat fine to the 1.76 MB
  29. size though... :-)
